Size does Matter… 2007 vs 2014 :)

Ask any Real estate agent that was in business in 2007&2014 the differences in the market in those 2 years..

1st response PRICE!

Sure, same house 2007- $280,000        2014 $180,000

I had such high hopes for this blog post contrasting the size of the homes built in 2007 vs. 2014. I have pictures, floorplans, spec sheets from 2007... all of it!

Biggest problem is that I do not have the same builders! I guess I could comapre different builders but not a great contrast. Most of the Maricopa builders in 2007 either no longer build period or no longer build in Maricopa

Here is a screen shot of all the builders that I have pictures and prices on: from 2007/2008

list o builders

That leaves us with DR. Horton which was and still is in Maricopa. (Senita, Sorrento, Homestead, Rancho, Alterra, Tortosa) . that's ok though, they are the perfect example!

DRHorton had 2 lines of homes in Maricopa in '07/08.

1. There was the Dietz  Crane series (Tortosa, Sorrento, Senita) This series of homes would be considered less expensive, and less frills than the Continental series. The Dietz Crane series sold out in Sorrento  a couple years ago.

2. The Continental series would be the more expensive series. Honestly, they have a bit more curb appeal and more of a customized look interior. The Continental series is still being built, but the floorplans have changed a bit.

2007/2008

DRHorton's largest floorplans 2008     Both Continental series

4546 sqft stanford        4239

The Stanford 4546sqft! It is a monster!                                     Second in command  4239sqft

DRHorton largest floorplan 2008  Dietz Crane model

pinnacle 3900

Pinnacle 3900sqft- Up to 8 bedroom option                                                 So 2007/2008 pretty big huh?

DRHorton is building solely in Homestead now.

2014 DRHorton in Homestead

torino 3200sqft          venice 2784sqft

Torino 3200sqft                                                                                         Venice 2784sqft

DRHorton was the only one needed for an example. None of the builders in 2014 in Maricopa build a 4000sqft homes. Builders are just building smaller homes in the area!
